Beep Privacy Policy

Introduction

Welcome to Beep, developed by Studio Phoenix. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.

Beep is designed with privacy at its core. The App does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal or fitness data on external servers. All information you enter into the App remains on your device.

1. Information We Collect

Beep does not collect any personal information. The App does not require an account, login, or registration to use. Specifically:

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information
• We do not collect usage data, analytics, or behavioural information
• We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data
• We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or similar technologies
• We do not use analytics services, crash reporting tools, or advertising SDKs

The only data that exists within the App is the content you create (test results, participant profiles, session notes, goals, and personal preferences), which is stored locally on your device.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

All data you create within Beep is stored exclusively on your device using local storage. This includes:

• Test results (level, shuttle, duration, VO2 max, fitness rating)
• Participant profiles (name, age, gender) for individual and group tests
• Optional profile pictures and session photos you choose to add from your device's photo library
• Session notes and test titles
• Training goals and progress
• App preferences (such as theme selection and countdown length)

Studio Phoenix does not have access to any of this data. Your performance and profile data never leaves your device through the App.

3. Fitness and Health-Related Data

Beep records performance data related to physical fitness, including test scores and derived estimates such as VO2 max and fitness ratings. We treat this data with care:

• All fitness data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to any server
• Studio Phoenix has no ability to access, read, or retrieve your fitness data
• No fitness data is shared with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers
• The App does not create health profiles or make performance data available to insurance companies, employers, or any other entity

4. Device Permissions

Beep may request the following device permissions:

• Microphone & Speech Recognition: Optional. Used locally for voice input (for example, hands-free logging). Audio is processed by your device's on-device or operating-system-provided speech services and is not transmitted to Studio Phoenix.
• Audio Playback (Background Audio): Used to play test audio (beeps, level announcements) continuously during a test, even when your screen is locked.
• Photo Library: Optional. Used only when you choose to add a profile picture or attach session photos for your own records and sharing. Selected images are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to Studio Phoenix or any third party.
• Notifications: Optional. Used solely to deliver a local "test still running" reminder when you background the App while a beep test is in progress. The App does not send marketing, promotional, or scheduled-reminder notifications, and no notification content leaves your device.

These permissions are optional. You can use the App without granting them, though some features may be limited.

5. In-App Purchases

Beep may offer optional in-app purchases to unlock premium features. All purchase transactions are handled entirely by the respective app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store). Studio Phoenix does not collect, process, or store any payment information, billing details, or financial data. Please refer to the privacy policy of your app store for details on how they handle purchase data.

6. Third-Party Services

Beep does not integrate with or send data to any third-party analytics platforms, advertising networks, or external servers. The only third-party involvement is the app store through which you download the App and make purchases, which is governed by that app store's own privacy policy.

7. Data Sharing

We do not share any of your data with anyone. Since the App does not collect or transmit data, there is no data to share. When you use the App's built-in export feature (such as exporting your test results as a CSV file), you are choosing to share that data through your device's native sharing capabilities, which is entirely under your control.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can delete logs, profiles, and other data within the App at any time via the relevant screens. Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all data associated with it. Studio Phoenix cannot recover any data after deletion or uninstallation, as we do not have copies of your data.

9. Children's Privacy

Beep is a fitness testing tool intended for general audiences, including use in educational and sports settings where younger participants may be tested. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). Since the App collects no personal data on external servers, no special provisions for children's data are required. When testing minors, the operator of the App (for example, a teacher or coach) is responsible for obtaining any required consent before entering participant names or ages.

10. Your Rights

Because Beep does not collect or store any personal data on external servers, traditional data rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) are managed entirely by you on your device. You have full control to view, edit, export, and delete any data within the App at any time.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Beep after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
